Oakham School Enterprises Ltd (OSEL) provides conference venues, corporate function venues, training rooms and sports facilities during the Easter, Summer and some half-term holidays. The school’s facilities are available for private hire to both residential and day groups. We offer a blend of traditional and modern multipurpose venues perfectly suited to host residential courses, meetings, seminars and conferences, sporting and social events. Oakham’s central location means that we have excellent road and rail links to London, Stansted and Birmingham airports.

Dance, Drama & Music
Theatre
The Queen Elizabeth Theatre is a 225 seat proscenium arch space with full technical support areas and equipment. Also within the building are a drama classroom, department teaching and production support offices, a paint shop, wardrobe, male and female dressing rooms (complete with showers) and a wide variety of store rooms. The front of house area contains a box office and bar area.
Music School
The Music School has 15 individual practice rooms, two professional music recording studios and a sound proof drum and percussion studio which are all available for hire.

The beautiful chapel at Oakham School which seats approx. 600, can be hired for religious events, weddings, memorials, conferences and musical events by the general public.

Sports Pitches
Doncaster Close offers 3 grass hockey pitches, 4 cricket pitches and 6 outdoor cricket nets.
Farside offers 4 rugby pitches, training paddock scrummage machine, a grassed athletics track, shot-put / discus cage, long jump.
Wilson Fields offers 4 rugby pitches, Association Football pitches and lacrosse pitches as required.
Swimming Pool
The 25 metre indoor pool offers 4 short course lanes with the option for 6 using reduced width, a 0.9m shallow end and 3.2m deep end, 3-5 anti-wave lane ropes, 2 large, newly refurbished changing rooms and a fully automated, insulated pool cover. Adult and Junior swimming lessons are also available.
Sports Hall
The full size Sports Hall at Oakham is marked out for : basketball court / 2 smaller courts, 4 badminton courts, 4 indoor cricket nets, 1 tennis courts, 1 volleyball courts and 1 netball courts.
Fitness Centre
The Fitness Centre offers 22 workout stations, 15 Pulse Fitness resistance machines, Kaiser spin cycles, Concept II rowing machines, 2.5-25kg free weights and a stretching area. Public memberships are available
Astro Turf Pitches
The flood lit astroturf can accommodate a full size hockey pitch and 9 tennis courts and the non-flood lit astro also accommodates a full size hockey pitch and 12 tennis courts.
Tennis Courts
9 Astroturf flood lit courts, 12 Astroturf non-flood lit courts, 7 outdoor hard courts and 1 indoor court are all available for hire by groups or individuals.

Light and airy with doors opening onto the cricket and rugby pitches of Doncaster Close, BAFS Pavilion is ideal for smaller meetings and social events. With a fully equipped kitchen and serving area, it is well suited for private hire. Seated capacity: 60

The new social sciences building is the ideal venue for a business meeting with an impressive reception, small conference room and plenty of break out rooms. A choice of a 50 or 225 seated lecture theatres is just a short walk away.

Lecture Theatre
The Ashburton lecture theatre located in the Ashburton Building close to town, seats up to 50 guests.
Accommodation
Spacious boarding houses are available for hire to groups and businesses for accommodation for conferences and residential events during the Easter, Summer holidays and some half-terms. The ten boarding houses offer a total of 600 guest beds. Each house has its own individual style and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. House sizes range from 36 to 70 beds. Each of the houses offers comfortable common rooms with TV, video facilities and wi-fi. Each house also includes its own kitchen and garden or open space with barbecue facilities. Free onsite parking is provided within a short walk from the house. The accommodation provides single, twin and a small number of multi-bedded rooms on a shared bathroom basis. All houses are within an easy walking distance of all our facilities, sports centre and the central Barraclough Dining Hall.

School House offers 54 beds – 35 singles + 9 twins, shared bathroom facilities, 1 large common room + Old Hall. It also benefits from an in-house kitchen and laundry, together with quiet study areas.
